Introducing The Discraft Sled: The Official Mold of the 2026 Pro World Championships

As an official manufacturer sponsor of the PDGA World ChampionshipsDiscraft is marking the 2026 season with the introduction of an all-new midrange disc—one designed intentionally to honor the championship, the course where the title will be decided, and the evolution of modern disc golf.

Set to take place less than 15 minutes from Discraft’s headquarters in Wixom, the 2026 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships will return to Kensington Metropark for the first time in more than two decades. The return to this historic venue—home to one of the most demanding and iconic championship courses in the sport—represents a full-circle moment for both Discraft and professional disc golf as a whole.

To commemorate the occasion and cement its place in disc golf history, Discraft set out to do something more than produce a commemorative run. Instead, the team developed a completely new mold from the ground up—one that reflects the terrain, the challenge, and the championship pedigree of Worlds itself.

Introducing the Sled.

The Sled is a uniquely shaped midrange disc and the first Discraft mold to feature a rolled groove-top thumbtrack. Inspired by the dramatic elevation changes and fast, flowing fairways of the Toboggan Course, this innovative top design provides exceptional grip and comfort, particularly for forehand throwers navigating power and angle control. Paired with a smooth, rounded profile, the Sled also settles naturally into a backhand grip, offering a confident, consistent feel regardless of throwing style.

In flight, the Sled delivers exactly what players expect from a championship-caliber midrange: a torque-resistant release, a clean and dependable straight flight, and a subtle, predictable fade at the finish. The result is a true workhorse disc—one that rewards clean form, handles power with ease, and remains accessible to players across a wide range of skill levels.

The Worlds Edition Test Flight Sled will make its public debut at the Disc East Expo on January 24 in Worcester, Massachusetts giving attendees an exclusive first opportunity to get this new mold in hand and experience Discraft’s latest innovation ahead of the 2026 season.

The entire Pro World Championship team is eager to see the Sled put to use by players and competitors alike, and extends its sincere thanks to Discraft for their continued partnership, craftsmanship, and commitment to elevating the World Championship experience.

The Discraft Sled, coming soon.
